Went traveling around Europe for a couple of weeks and made this little video from it all
With technology getting more and more advanced over the years, its being used in more everyday life things such as TV shows. With mobile phones being more like computers people are connected to the web all where ever they are all day. With this we are also able to target our audience in many more ways such as catch up TV, twitter or Facebook. Some shows even use social network sites such as twitter to create a narrative for a live show with live feeds from twitter or Skype from views. We are now able to have more of a say when watching a TV program as many shows now tell you to tweet them with curtain hash tags and read out there favorites.
I felt that this whole module went very well as the subject for our TV show was on a very strong field for me as it’s what I do in my spare time, extreme sports . However our group wasn’t able to agree on everything as some people had very strong views on other things to others making it hard for us as a group to decide on what things to do, however with our director being very good we were able to overcome all this and put our ideas in to action. The main problem we had was that over half our group weren’t turning up on time or not turning up at all… this made it very hard to practice run through with half the people not attending. My role for the TV show was PA which was very stressful as I made to make sure everything was running in time and if I was a split second out it could ruin the whole show, but I managed to do a good job. I also film the credits and some of the TVs. Overall when It came to the final day of shooting our group all pull its weight together and we managed to produce a good bit of TV.
This year my professional development in the media industry has been a lot more professional with the level of my work. I have just got back from Germany where I have been filming for a BMX edit for a Banbury local rider to make a video for his 3 sponsors; Ride Hard BMX, Horizon watches and Predictable lie. Doing these BMX edits for these companies will get my name out there as they are posting my videos on their website and all over Facebook which is helping me get my name out there. The edit from Germany will be out beginning of July! Keep an eye out for it
For the TV show we had to choose a topic to do with risky business. People put forward their own ideas but was hard for the whole group to decide on one idea. I put forward the idea of extreme sports as there was a lot we could do with this. For me this is a very good thing as a lot of my time out of uni im either doing extreme sports of filming so have a lot of inside knowledge about the subject giving our group the upper hand. I also had a lot of videos that I have filmed over the years so we had a lot of footage which we didn’t need copy right for.
